Well ok, after driving around for a few days with the UD Pulleys I said I would post my opinion of them. Did I notice a HP increase? Nah. I actually dont usually notice any power increase in mods like normal bolt ons, like intake, exhaust etc. That doesnt mean there wasnt one. Just that my butt aint that sensitive haha.

Now, I did notice one difference. I drive an Automatic, and normally when I switch the OD off, I can feel a real noticeable drag on the engine as the RPMs go up. Like something is pulling me back. Now, that drag is a whole lot less. practically zero. When I first experienced it, i was like whoa! Thats how much of a change it was. That in itself makes it all worth while.

My car is still charging just fine even with the stock alternator pulley still on. As a tip for people with tuners, if you did start to have charging problems, you can always increase your idle RPM by 100 in the tuner and that should help it.

Oh and the AC is still ice cold in case anyone is curious.

I hear that the pulley change will cause the car to not charge fully and over heat, is there any truth to this?

Not with this kit. All accessories are 100% good to go.

I have heard of this problem on other cars and/or different kits that change the pulley ratios too much--for instance, my buddy with a Prelude used to have his headlights dim at traffic lights, etc.

hey i have quick question. what are the brand UD pulleys that were on your car originally. because my buddy has a set of BBKs for the 01-04 brand new in the box. just wondering because the ones in your video looked like the BBKs.

thanks-
Danny

Yeah, pretty sure they were BBK but I think maybe the original owner did a bad job installing them or something. That or the keyhole that goes on the crankshaft just chewed itself up over time. Steedas are still holding up though.

Hello Prof ..

Your Video is great ! I learnt alot really ...

I have a Q ..

read this and tell me is it right or bad and causes problems ...

- after removing the factory crankshaft pulley , the steeda pulley was

installed and balanced only with entering a long big needle to balance it

with the crankshaft , then an impact gun was used to tighen the pulley up -

1-Is this a right procedure ? if it isn't , what's wrong with it ?

2- what're the problems i will face ( except check engine and oil leaking ) if

the crankshaft pulley wasn't installed or balanced correctly ? less hp ? other ?

thanks

Unfortunately, that sounds like something went very wrong. I don't quite follow the needle part. The pulley doesn't need to be balanced in any way (it is built to act as a balancer). Also the tightening instructions are very specific for this install. Please watch the video again and consider loosening the crankshaft bolt and retightening according to factory specification.

Here's the link to the video:
